In 2013 Maria gained her Master of Fine Art Degree with Distinction at Massey University, Wellington. (View her Thesis on Line.)

In 2008 Maria was the runner up for the award for the New Zealand Professional Photographer of the year at the NZIPP Iris awards. She also won the Editorial Illustrative Category at the 2008 NZIPP Iris Awards. One of Ten national category awards she has won since 1994.

Maria is a multi talented award winning photographer she is highly regarded within her field. She is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography with 7 additional Gold Bars and Master of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. She has lectured within New Zealand and Australia and conducted several workshops. Maria enjoys sharing her work and inspiration.

“My husband Steve and my son Dylan have been a constant source of support and inspiration. We enjoy collecting things and the cupboards in my studio have a hoard of treasures waiting to become beautiful still life images.”

Maria is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
